Brean Ball Raises £8,000 For Charity

The Discover Brean and BH&HPA Charity Ball raised over £8,000 for St Margaret’s Hospice.

The night was full of music and dance at The Tavern, Brean, at the Christmas ball held in aid of St Margaret’s Hospice.

The auction and raffle had an array of amazing prizes and the food was exceptional, raising an amazing £8,257.85 for the Somerset charity.

Terena Gill, community fundraiser at St Margaret’s Hospice, said: “It was a fantastic night and the atmosphere was brilliant. We at St Margaret’s Hospice are over the moon at the total raised. It costs £500 per day to care for someone with a life-limiting illness at our In-patient Units, and all our care is free of charge, so this money could pay for someone to stay with us for 16 days.

“I would like to thank everyone who was involved and all those who came and supported the ball. It’s events like this that raise the much needed funds to keep the doors of the hospice open to everyone.”

Alan House from Discover Brean and Ian James from BH&HPA, said: “We thoroughly enjoyed organising the ball and would like to thank all those who contributed to the raffle and auction prizes, making it a great night for all. St Margaret’s Hospice is a very special charity close to our hearts, making it our charity of choice.

“We are already planning our next black tie ball on Saturday, December 14, in aid of St Margaret’s Hospice, which will be held at the Tavern.”
